What makes this program different from other training programs?
The things that set us apart from all the others include:
- Meeting with you personally so we can accurately evaluate what you need to do in order to succeed.
- The ability to contact us at any time during office hours to speak with one of our highly skilled instructors.
- All of our instructors have previous flight attendant experience and also have a background in flight attendant recruiting.
Nothing compares to the hands-on treatment you will receive at Flight Attendant Express. We take exceptional care to give the very best customer service and attention to our students with attention to detail and support.
What is your location? Do you have anything in my area?
Our classes are held in Orlando, Florida, at the Wingate Inn near the Orlando International Airport. We do not provide our program in other cities, as we want to closely simulate airline school to our students and in airline school student have to go to the airline’s home base to attend training. Many of our students have never been away from home for any period of time so it is our aim to have them experience this before going away to airline school for several weeks. We feel that classes are much more effective than online courses, because we can work with you in person and are also able to make a referral for you, to airlines.
Can I Go to College While I’m Working As A Flight Attendant?
Due to the irratic schedule given to a new flight attendant, it is very difficult to attend school or any regularly scheduled activity, at least in the beginning, when you will probably be on-call. Initially, flight attendants are on “reserve”, or on-call, and even though you have scheduled days off each month, you may not know where you will be all the days in between! But that is the adventure of being a flight attendant.
Everything goes by seniority in the airlines. After you have been there for awhile, you will have the higher seniority required to bid for a regular schedule and it will be somewhat easier to take classes or do other things requiring set times. But don’t count on doing that for quite some time - it may take months or even years before you are able to do that. It is best to finish whatever schooling you have in mind before you begin a flight attendant career.
How Long Does it Take to Get a Job?
Usually when airlines are interviewing they are able to offer applicants a position in a relatively short period of time, with provision for you to give 2 weeks’ notice at your present job. Hiring procedures differ throughout the industry - some airlines only hire on certain days of each month, and some airlines are backlogged with applicants and it may take several months to schedule you for an interview. Your flexibility in choice of airlines will also expedite the process - if you have your heart set on working for a certain airline and they don’t happen to be hiring right now, you may have to wait for awhile until they resume hiring. But if you are flexible, you will have more options open to you.
How Long is the Course?
The course is equivalent to 72 hours.
The first part is learning at home with our Study Guide, which we send you when we receive your deposit for the course. Most people require about 2 weeks to thoroughly learn the material in the Study Guide. There is a lot of information involved, with some memorization.
When you come to Orlando for class, you will be here for 4 days.
While you are here we will go over the information you have been studying to ensure your comprehension, then you will be tested on it. We also teach you interviewing skills which include how to make an airline specific resume what to wear for the interview and communication skills. We have several practice exercises with group participation and role-playing, then we video tape you to show your progress in the interview.
What If I Don’t Pass Your Test?
Our students are required to make a 90% or above to pass the test. Airlines typically require at least 80%, and some require 90%, so our standards are set so that you can achieve a high level of success in airline training. Our intentions are to build, empower and give confidence. We want you to succeed, so if you do not pass our test the first time, we work with you until we are sure you understand and we retest you on the last day of class. If you need an additional try at the testing, you can go to your local library and the staff there will proctor you for a re-test. It is rare that a student has a great deal of difficulty, but if that should happen, we can schedule you to repeat the class at a later time. The charge for a repeat or refresher class is only $100 for any former student.
