What is the Maximum Age to Become a Flight Attendant?

Airlines have found that mature candidates generally possess a good work ethic and are very reliable.  There is no age limit for flight attendant applicants.  As long as you are physically able to effectively perform the duties of a flight attendant, you are eligible for hire.  We have had many students who have been hired that are in their 50’s and 60’s.  Airlines know that the life experience “seasoned” individuals bring to the job enables them to handle difficult situations and that they generally have a good work ethic, are very reliable and stable!

Do you help with placement?

We absolutely do help with placement! Placement assistance is a MAJOR part of our program.

We help you set up interviews with any other airlines for which you are interested in working.  We will contact airlines for you and refer you as one of our students. You are also given a referral letter from our staff and a Certificate of Completion as part of your graduation packet.  You can make copies of the letter and take them with you to any airline interviews you attend.  The name of Flight Attendant Express is widely recognized and respected among airline recruiters.  Airlines appreciate receiving our students because they know they have a higher chance of successfully completing their initial flight attendant training.  Everyone wants you to succeed - AIRLINES save money hiring people who are successful in training; WE want you to succeed because it shows that we are doing things right, and YOU naturally want to succeed in your new career!

What is the Age Minimum to Take This Course?

In one part of this website it says you have to be at least within 3 months of turning 19 to take the course, but in the Minimum Requirements section it says you only have to be 18.  Which is correct?
The minimum age requirement for a flight attendant is 18, but you must be 3 months shy of 19 to take OUR course, because only 2 airlines are hiring 18-year-olds right now, because they are too difficult to place.  There are several others that hire 18-year-olds – North American, Mesa, Commuter Air, Colgan, Midwest and Mesaba.  You will not be eligible to interview with any airlines  that have a higher age requirement.

What makes this program different from other training programs?

The things that set us apart from all the others include:

  • Meeting with you personally so we can accurately evaluate what you need to do in order to succeed.
  • The ability to contact us at any time during office hours to speak with one of our highly skilled instructors.
  • All of our instructors have previous flight attendant experience and also have a background in flight attendant recruiting.

Nothing compares to the hands-on treatment you will receive at Flight Attendant Express.  We take exceptional care to give the very best customer service and attention to our students with attention to detail and support.

What is your location? Do you have anything in my area?

Our classes are held in Orlando, Florida, at the Wingate Inn near the Orlando International Airport.  We do not provide our program in other cities, as we want to closely simulate airline school to our students and in airline school student have to go to the airline’s home base to attend training.  Many of our students have never been away from home for any period of time so it is our aim to have them experience this before going away to airline school for several weeks.  We feel that classes are much more effective than online courses, because we can work with you in person and are also able to make a referral for you, to airlines.

Can I Go to College While I’m Working As A Flight Attendant?

Due to the irratic schedule given to a new flight attendant, it is very difficult to attend school or any regularly scheduled activity, at least in the beginning, when you will probably be on-call.  Initially, flight attendants are on “reserve”, or on-call, and even though you have scheduled days off each month, you may not know where you will be all the days in between!  But that is the adventure of being a flight attendant.

Everything goes by seniority in the airlines.  After you have been there for awhile, you will have the higher seniority required to bid for a regular schedule and it will be somewhat easier to take classes or do other things requiring set times.  But don’t count on doing that for quite some time - it may take months or even years before you are able to do that.  It is best to finish whatever schooling you have in mind before you begin a flight attendant career.
